Abstract

This study aims to develop a guidance and counseling program in improving students' social skills at SD TMIP Yogyakarta City. This is based on preliminary findings that indicate the social skills of students in these schools need to be improved. The research method used is Research & Development. The results of the development of guidance and counseling programs include: 1) development of service programs including a) network development, b) Development of Guidance and Counseling Management Activities, c) Service development, d) and types of services, 2) design and action plans include: a) identification, b) time management, c) inventory of needs and types of services, d) implementation, reflection and evaluation of programs.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the socio-economic impacts of the development of tourist destination Sindu Kusuma Edupark (SKE) on local community. Six indicator were examined: employment opportunity, employment absorption, income, welfare, general infrastructure, and government revenue. Survey data from three sub-villages (dusun) were included in the analysis. The findings of this study demonstrated that the development of SKE has various impact to the local community. Dusun Kragilan, the closest sub-village to the tourist destination, has received positive economic impact because most of its residents have a small business at SKE. However, SKE has also negative impact as tourist crowds often caused congestion in the area, making it less conducive to local people to do their daily activities. For people in Dusun Ngaglik and Dusun Rogoyudan, which are located farther away from the tourist site, SKE has not seemed to provide a meaningful economic benefit. Despite the fact that they receive contributions in cash from SKE, there is only limited opportunity for participation in the development of SKE. From this study is recommended to provide persuasive approach to the community in three nearby sub-villages in order to establish SKE as a tourist site that provides positive socio-economic impact for local community.

Abstract

People with disabilities have equal rights in life, one of which is to take education. As a group that is vulnerable to injustice, family support as the closest person has an important role in the survival of people with disabilities. The government, community, and family should provide support and opportunities for people with disabilities to go to school in order to create independence for them. But in reality, there are still many people with disabilities who do not get access and support for education. Therefore, this study aims to explore forms of social support for families with disabilities in open access to education, by conducting case studies on families of people with physical disabilities. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study found that there were five forms of family social support, especially parents for people with physical disabilities in Labang District in health education, namely support in instrumental aspects, informational aspects, emotional aspects, aspects of support for self-esteem, and network aspects.

Abstract

Culture is a human activity that is carried out repeatedly. The form of culture is in the form of ideas, behaviors, and objects. The purpose of this study is to identify red and white porridge as a symbol of naming children and to analyze the phenomenon from the perspective of cultural sociology through Jurgen Habermas' theory of cultural rationalization. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with interviews and literature studies. The results showed that the red and white porridge symbolized the red porridge symbolized the mother's blood, and the white porridge symbolized the father's semen. Red and white porridge is a symbol of naming children as well as an introduction to prayer for children. According to Habermas, the nature of human relations with other humans is the communication that occurs during the process of transferring knowledge from parents to children about the symbolization of red and white porridge. In addition, during the process of distributing the porridge to the neighbors around the place of residence, after it was made and prayers were said. The recipient will simultaneously receive information about the birth and name of the child, as well as the symbolization of the red and white porridge.

Abstract

Advertising aims to convey a persuasive message so that the audience buys the products offered. Besides, it also contains implied ideology. The ideology is conveyed implicitly with visuals and words in the advertisement. This study aimed to examine the ideology implied in the five advertisements for children's milk broadcast on television. This research used the content analysis research method. The population was children's milk advertisements broadcast on television. The samples were the five advertisements for children's milk that were consumed the most in 2020, i.e. Enfagrow, Pediasure, Chil Kid Morinaga, Nestle Lactogrow, and SGM. The units studied were physical, syntactic, and thematic units. The study results showed that the advertisements for children's milk contain an implied ideology. The ideology was motherism ideology, where a mother is fully responsible for family integrity and domestic work. This was shown from the most dominant vocabulary that appeared in the advertisement, explanation of the milk, the role that is dominated by the mother, and scenes that occur in the advertisement. Some advertisements showed father figures and citizens as extras. However, the mother role who made milk in kitchen, and was responsible for the ideas initiated by her child, showed the motherism ideology implicitly

Abstract

The use of logos is often associated with the company's strategy in conveying its business message. Through logos, companies can form an image, identity, and understanding of the community. Logos are generally used by companies as an identity to distinguish them from other companies. The logo is a form of representation of the company's vision and mission that has signs in it. This sign consists of several visual elements, such as line, shape, space, and color. In order to be able to analyze the sign system and the meaning contained in the logo, we need a method so that the meaning contained behind the symbol can be understood. This method is called semiotics. In this study, researchers examined the Bumbu Bamboe logo using a qualitative approach and Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic method. Pierce distinguishes the relationship between signs and their references into three types of relations, namely: icons, indexes, and symbols. The signs that the author analyzed are pictures of stems and leaves, the words “bamboe”, the words “Since 1968”, and the words “Authentic Recipes”. The role of the Bumbu Bamboe logo is as a corporate identity that describes the company's vision, mission, and goals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of character education in SMA Negeri I Teladan Yogyakarta. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The steps are 1) collecting data through a questionnaire technique); 2) reducing data with the aim of simplifying and categorizing data; 3) presenting data in the form of a mean description; 4) drawing conclusions and 5) compiling research reports, and formulate recommendations for research results. The results of the study show that: 1) the management of character education at SMA Negeri I Teladan Yogyakarta has so far applied management principles, that the character education program at SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta is integrated into both curricular and extracurricular; 2) There are obstacles in the implementation, namely the learning system, the understanding of teachers and employees is not yet optimal,) the students' understanding of the importance of character education, and media, equipment, and program support are still lacking so that the implementation of education the character in the class is less than optimal; 3) The efforts made by schools in implementing character education management are the establishment of a character education implementing and monitoring team, teachers are required to carry out assessments concerning character, namely the spiritual and social aspects on an ongoing basis; an evaluation of the development of character education is carried out based on the results of teacher assessments, intensive socialization is carried out to teachers, employees, and students regarding character education programs, and schools seek to support the implementation of character education programs.

Abstract

In accordance with the mandate in the 1945 Constitution (amendment), every citizen has the right to education. This statement also applies to deaf people, where educational accessibility must be accommodated. The Soemeh application is here as an effort to provide educational accessibility for the deaf. This study aims to reveal the impact of using the Soemeh application on educational accessibility. This type of research uses a quantitative approach survey. The research population is the deaf disability community in Bandung, West Java. The sampling technique used a total quota of 20 respondents. Accessibility impact data was taken using a questionnaire instrument. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative. The results of the study indicate that the Soemeh application has a very high impact on educational accessibility for deaf people with the following details: (1) acceptance in the environment gets an average score of 3.35 including the very high category; (2) the ease of communication gets an average score of 3.35 including the very high category; (3) respect for deaf individuals gets an average score of 3.4 including the very high category; (4) future expectations to develop and achieve goals to get an average score of 3.5, including the very high category; (5) the achievement of independence gets an average score of 3.4 including the very high category; and (6) eliminating barriers and discrimination to get a score of 3.25 including the high category

Abstract

This research aims to describe the perception PHBS post employee doing socialization. This study uses qualitative phenomenological methods with semi-structured interview data collection methods. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This study consisted of 4 employees of Puskesmas sumber, one person served as the head of the puskesmas, one person served as a public health instructor, one person as coordinator of the midwife, one person as the accountant of the puskesmas. The analytical technique used by the researcher is thematic analysis technique. The results of the research, all informants understood the meaning of PHBS, which is an activity of a healthy and clean lifestyle that must be carried out in daily life. Each informant also has a sad feeling when the community does not comply with the socialization activities that have been provided by the Community Health Center. The results of the research also explain that PHBS activities have begun to be implemented in the community, such as washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining distance. However, there are still some violations of PHBS.

Abstract

The Batang Regency Government has held an Anti Hoax Declaration in 2017. However, the problem of spreading hoaxes on social media still continues. Even in the midst of a pandemic situation, hoaxes about COVID-19 have also caused public unrest. This study aims to describe the communication strategy of the Communication and Information Office of Batang Regency in warding off hoaxes. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews and document review. The results of the study indicate that the Batang Regency Communication and Information Office seeks to improve digital community literacy by holding group discussion forums, socialization to high schools, anti-hoax digital campaigns on social media, and public service advertisements on regional radio. The communication strategy is not optimal because it is not based on careful planning and analysis. Another obstacle faced is the limited number of human and technological resources.
